Recreating any I Ching reading is made easy with decimal notation, and original Chinese text is included at no additional charge. There are no ads, subscriptions, or nag screens.

The I Ching software engine precisely emulates the ancient yarrow stalk method, which was slightly more likely to cast yang than yin. Although changing yin lines are rare when using stalks, they have an equal probability to changing yang lines when using coins. This app stays true to the ancient divination method by using stalks instead of coins.

If you prefer counting your own stalks or casting your own coins, there's a manual hexagram builder available.

The wisdom and philosophy of the ancient Chinese texts are beautifully blended with commentaries that incorporate elements of modern poetry, humor, and cultural references from art, music, divination, literature, and Human Design. In my commentaries, I've drawn inspiration from diverse sources including Bob Dylan, Lao Tzu, Doctor Who, the Tarot, T.S. Eliot, Emily Dickinson, John Lennon, Maya Angelou, the Grateful Dead, and Martin Luther King. The language used makes every attempt to be gender-neutral when not gender-specific.

I wanted the interface of this app to be simple and uncluttered. No fake parchment backgrounds or gimmicky images. Instead, I aimed for a digital divination space that allows for a quiet and reflective experience in an environment that usually screams for attention.
